I have windows 10 Laptop with NVIDIA GPU 940MX DDR3 and core i5 7200U processor, I tried streaming with 1500 bitrate and x264 for both recording and streaming but it lags a lot. I tried changing to NVENC but then OBS deny to go LIVE online. Please help me with the best settings for streaming. I tried with OBS studio and streamlabs both.
Note: I have 10 MBS internet speed on WIFI. Speedtest shows 30 MBS download and 23 Upload Speed.

now i know im brand new here, but excuse me if i say your internet speed isnt proficient enough to stream in general UNLESS you run at a low resolution and 24/30 fps, with just 1000 total bitrate able to be used you would want to use say 750-800. with 480p/24 or 30 fps if its laggy. im assuming your only lagging cause of hardware and the quality you are trying to achieve being too high.

Sorry to say bro but by mistake I wrote 1 MBPS it's actually 10 MBPS and i am only trying to achieve 720p for recording and streaming both is it very high for me. (Speedtest shows 30 MBPS download and 23 Upload Speed. )

okay, slightly better. you are probably reading Mbps and not MBps. if so, you have a total of 2300 kbps or bitrate to use, with this i would recommend 720p30 at 2000 bitrate, as for the encoder use whatever you can handle, obviously x264 is better but if the cpu gets maxed out easily in game i would go for the NVENC option. ofcourse nvenc will be more pixelated as it uses way less resources combined with that low of a bitrate, this also depends on the game if its 1. a high action paced or 2. a simple card game. with 1 causing the most pixelation/noticable blurring, and 2. being the least noticable pixelation/blurring etc.

Hope this helped.

The Nvidia 940MX doesn't support nvenc. Try to use Quicksync (QSV) as encoder. If this doesn't work and you can only choose x264 as encoder, make sure you use only 1 encoder session by using the "use stream encoder" setting for recording. Otherwise you will overload your CPU with the encoding sessions.

i second this, sorry for the misinformation.
