OBS draining battery

Hey, so I have Macbook Air, 10.13.6- High Sierra laptop. My CPU doesn't really support high resolution while streaming... so I have resolved back to streaming in low-resolution rates, changed my preset to ultra-fast and lowered my fps. After the changes, my streams were running smoothly. But I have noticed that OBS is draining my battery. I literally have no power backup.
SO, what should I do? Is buying a MacBook pro a better option? Should I change to windows? Or is there an option to run obs without ruining my battery life?
Please help!!

Ps: My streams are not for gaming. (It's for study streams)

OBS can be pretty demanding, especially on older hardware like a MacBook Air running High Sierra. Your current setup is working, but the battery drain is expected with OBS using so much CPU. Upgrading to a MacBook Pro with better specs (and battery life) would definitely help. Switching to Windows is also a solid option if you’re open to it—many streamers use powerful Windows laptops for better OBS performance. In the meantime, try streaming while plugged in, lower your screen brightness, and close all other apps. And consider an external battery or power source like an EverStart power pack for backup.
