Hey all! I'm trying to get into game capturing (not streaming) and I can't get 4K60 capture to save my life. I followed these instructions:
www.youtube.com
And I can get those to work scaled down to 1440p but not 2160p. And before you yell at me about his 150MBPS bitrate, I've monkeyed with that and it doesn't seem to be the problem. I just can't attain a smooth 4K60 output file. When I play it back, frames are dropping everywhere.
Here's an example: https://youtu.be/FJ7cbWYCsS0
My question is: Is a native 4K60 output file possible with my hardware, and if so, what settings should I try? Thanks!
My setup: An Elgato 4KX running 24.12.10, OBS 31.0.3, Elgato's Capture Utility 1.3.1 on an M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 18GB of RAM running MacOS 15.3.2. According to Activity Monitor, CPU load is under 20% as I record.
