Hi, my set up is as follows.
Windows 10
Ryzen 7 2700X 4.35GHz 8 core
Nvidia RTX 2070 Super 8GB
32GB 2x16GB Vengeance 3200Mhz DDR4
3x Monitors, which are.
Samsung CF396 x2 60Hz
Samsung CRG5 x1 144Hz (lowered to 60Hz to match other model)
Firstly I heard that playing on my 144Hz monitor at 144Hz whilst my other monitors were at 60Hz could cause some issues. This was the case and I changed the main monitor I game on to 60Hz and this drastically reduced the stuttering frames from recordings.
My issue is that OBS streams games fine at 1080p 60fps and watching the streams back they look amazing with no frame drops at all or stuttering. However when recording footage only the videos that are played back stutter occasionally and skip frames. The settings on OBS that I use to record are as follows.
(system settings)
Game Bar OFF
Game DVR OFF
Game DVR background recording OFF
Game Mode OFF
(OBS)
I use Game Capture for the source (capture specific Window)
Encoder - Nvidia Nvenc H.264 (New)
Recording format - MP4
Rate Control - CBR
Bitrate - 16,000 Kbps
Keyframe Interval 2
Preset - Quality
Profile - High
Look ahead - ON
Psycho Visual tuning - ON
GPU - 0
Max B-frames - 2
Video - 1920x1080
Output - 1920x1080
Downscale Filter - Lanczos (sharpening scaling, 36 samples)
FPS - 60
Renderer - Direct3D 11
Color format - NV12
Color space - 709
Color range - Full
I have tried lowering the quality, changing settings etc and I still get recordings that skip frames, stutter in parts and end up choppy. I have limited the FPS to 60 in games to match OBS and my 60Hz monitors. I am at a loss as to what I could do to reduce this issue?
