Question / Help UA Apollo with OBS

I'm on day 2 of watching tutorials, downloading programs, and troubleshooting audio issues and I'm totally starting to lose it.

Here are my two end goals:
  1. Stream video games while speaking
  2. Stream live performances with guitar / vox (with audio being filtered through my DAW (Ableton Live 10))
I am on x64 Windows 10.
Computer / DAW / Interface / Microphone set to 48khz at 512 buffer size.
Interface is the UA Apollo x8p
Microphone is a Warm Audio WA-87

The issue I’m having when I try to stream basic video game play is that my microphone crackles and is full of static. (see: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/580104687 at 1:45 and at the end when I pick up my guitar). I’ve tried adding filters in streamlabs (noise suppression, gate, compressor, etc) and I don’t get any better results. When I owned a UA Apollo Twin Duo USB I ended up finding somewhat of a work-around use Voicemeeter Banana and Cantabile but I’m looking for the most simple answer as possible, since all of my audio and recording works perfect outside of OBS and would hate to undo all sorts of routing if I want to use my computer for anything other than streaming.

For performing, I'm using the jBridge // Voxengo Recorder method which works flawlessly to get audio to OBS, but there's a latency issue that I can't figure out. OBS will receive the audio about .5 seconds after it is played (more or less depending on which buffer size I choose).

Please help. This is insanely frustrating and I feel like I’m missing something so simple to make this all work. Every streamer using a mic / interface setup that I ask for assistance seems like they've never experienced these issues previously. Thank you so much for your time.

Hey @paulknakk I just fixed this problem for myself

Download a Asio driver if you dont have one already. FL Studios will have one
heres a link to FL Studios (Don't worry. The free trial will work fine): https://bit.ly/3eetc1u
After you download and install FL Studios
Download and install the asio obs plugin from here: https://github.com/Andersama/obs-asio/releases
open OBS Studio, add a source and Asio should appear in the options
Click it, Name the file or leave the default name and press OK
Click the device tab and choose your interface
Change format to Mono
Click Ok

If this doesnt fix it. message me

@TreeLau From what I can tell, this plugin doesn't work on the global os outputs, do you have to add a source to every scene?
If I do this, how do I then control it with Stream deck? Do I need to nest the same scene across all scenes?

I know this old but thank you so much for this. I spent almost a full day trying to solve the issue of getting sound in OBS from my UAD Apollo Twin.

Wow, I apologize. This is the first time I'm seeing this response...Only because I googled this issue again. I installed this stuff, 0 audio signal appears in OBS on the ASIO channel. I've seen some workarounds online by switching the 1 & 2 on the UAD console with Mon L and Mon R but it still gives me a crackle. This drives me insane...how is this not easier lol

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? It’s 2024 and I get the crackle - however - I have figured out how to get the audio onto OBS but haven’t figured out how to separate the channels in my x6 to separate channels in OBS

isn’t a problem for me but the crackle… you know the deep rooted pain

Yo brother I think the issue might be your buffer size in your x8p

I had mine at 256 at 32bit x 96kHz and once I switched it to 1024 at 24bit x 48kHz and haven’t heard a crackle since!!!! Yes ofc there’s a kiss more latency but you can pretty much fix the delayed shift the audio backwards by around ~350 nano seconds and boom CLEAN
