Video Capture Device Issues

Hello,

FIrst time forum poster here - I use OBS on a weekly basis for church livestream. I'm using OBS 31.0.2 on MacBook Pro, with video coming from a Canon Camcorder.

Our prior week's Video Capture Device name shows up in "Sources," but will not automatically detect a camera. It shows a black stream, even when the proper device is selected in the "Properties" screen. Since the most recent update, we create to make a new Video Capture Device every single week, select the SAME EXACT device in Properties, and it then works perfectly.

Has anyone experienced this issue? How can we setup OBS for Sunday morning livestream without having to create a new video device every week? This hadn't been an issue until the past month or so, and it's quite infuriating.

I frequently have the same problem. Go into the setting for the video source and select different source and save the setting. Open it a second time and then select the correct source, this normally fixes the issue.

Subject: Audio distortion when using RØDECaster Duo with OBS on macOS

Hello,
I’m experiencing a consistent issue when using OBS with my RØDECaster Duo on macOS. When recording or streaming audio via USB (48 kHz), the audio becomes distorted, with random balance shifts, crackling, and digital artifacts.

- Audio sounds perfect in Audacity, Voice Memos, and other macOS apps – the issue only appears in OBS
- Tried different USB ports, cables, creating new profiles, disabling filters, etc.

I’d love to know if this is a known issue, or if there are any recommended workarounds or upcoming fixes. I’m trying to use OBS for a professional livestream setup and this audio problem is currently blocking my project.
