Websocket not showing up in 28.1.2

Greetings!
I found out today, that my OBS Version has no build in Websocket (or it doesn't show up anywhwere) & when I install the websocket plugins (manually & per installer both Versoions from github) I get the "could not load plugin"-Error. OBS runs on Win 10 and this is the only issue I have with plugins so far.

If more informations are needed, please ask. I'm not sure what other information I should include here. :')

Take care!

What version of obs do you have? This is what the git says:
"obs-websocket is now included by default with OBS Studio 28.0.0 and above. As such, there should be no need to download obs-websocket if you have OBS Studio > 28.0.0."

Nm, just noticed you put 28.1.2 in title lol. In any case it should already be there. It's just not showing up in tools menu?

I am having the same issue... I recently wiped my PC and with it decided to update to OBS 28.1.2 and now I no longer have "websockets" in the Tool menu (pic for reference). I even tried downloading the obs-websocket plugin, even though it's not meant for 28+, and as expected, it didn't make a difference.

Unfortunately my setup relies heavily on this integration, bots, BarRaider buttons, etc... Has anyone found a solution other than going going back a version in OBS?

Thank you!

Bump, can anyone speak to this?

I'm not seeing the plugin in OBS 29.0.2 and when I try to install it, it blocks it.

So far the only solution I found is to downgrade OBS and install older version of OBS WebSocket:
Nov. 2022 - Solution

Is that it or is there something I'm missing in the new version. Should the plugin be under the Tools tab? Or somewhere else?

Ok Quick Overview:
If you download/installed OBS v28+ it should have OBS - Web Socket already installed.
My version OBS 29.0.2 (64bit windows) - installed a few weeks ago Mar. 2023 - I can't find it. Trying to connect Stream Deck and Bit Companion

Boom! Discord had the answer:
Go to Help > Check File Integrity

This will shut OBS down and find it for you ;)

Go back to the Tools > WebSocket Server Settings

I think that's it ^. The .dll file for websocket was deleted when I followed an 1.5 install video before finding out it's now integrated. It was gone in my version but of course OBS still works. Save your scene and Reinstall!
