Where are the source files stored, please?

Hey There,

I'm having the problem that I create a source, then delete it, but then cannot create it again with the same name, because it exists, but it is not in the existing files list.

So, where are these being stored, please, so that I can delete them manually. Also, please fix the application so that remove means remove, and delete means delete. At the moment, delete is apparently removing and hiding from the existing list, but not actually deleting. Many thanks!!

Instead, you may try to create new Scene Collection from main menu.

Sources itself are records stored in .json format in the Scene files. Scene files accessible from the main menu File > Show Settings Folder then you need to navigate to basic > scenes folder.

I assume that the scene collection will bundle everything for a particular theme, for example? If I can ever get everything named the way I want? Which I cannot, because when I delete a source, it is not deleted, just removed and no longer available, but blocking that name.

Thank you very much for the information.

However, we still have the bug that after deleting sources, they are not showing and yet still exist. I'm also unsure how I should find and delete them in the *.json file. :-( Feels like I have to delete and uninstall OBS and re-install, which is undesirable. Streaming should be more readily available, but for this, it really isn't. I don't have experience with *.json files.

I just looked. It would be more useful to delete everything and start all over again, sadly. I really don't get why these are packed into an untitled.json file, instead of being separate. This will be the reason why they are still there after being deleted. Thanks anyhow. Maybe it's time to start streaming directly from Restream.

If you deleted a source but it's still somewhere, you might have created multiple instances of this source, in different scenes. A source is only gone, if you delete every instance of it. If you post a log, we can see which sources are in which scene and possibly identify where it still has some instance.

I did. I just deleted everything and started again, being more careful. Thank you for the information. I also started creating collections, or whatever they're called. Keep all the Dark Purple scenes together. Cheers!! Ceana

I only created one. This is very clearly a bug, but since no one wants to believe that I only created it once and deleted it, but could not reuse the name, this will not get fixed any time soon. I do not know if the log files were over-written or where they are.
