OBS not working with RTX 5090 (NV_ENC_ERR_INVALID_DEVICE)

I had this error repeatedly however it seems to have been resolved on my side by disabling Core isolation in windows 11 and making sure the split encode option is set to disabled in OBS. I'm not sure if it is full resolved, but it appears to be working for me so far. I have done about 9 - 12 hours of recordings per week since mid April and I have not had any problems.

Are you on 576.52 or 576.40? I am currently on 576.28, should I update? + Did you use the nvidia app or use DDU and install driver manually? Studio or game ready driver?
576.40, sorry I replied last week but it got deleted. No crash since 576.40 install. Crossing my fingers. If this is actually fixed I will be so happy. Anyone else have success?

Just got NV_ENC_ERR_INVALID_DEVICE error today with 576.28, I might update driver soon.

I also get nv_enc_err_invalid_param error too, is my GPU bricked? lol

Try 576.40. I have not crashed once since install after crashing multiple times a day for months. Let me know. Maybe DDU as well.

I was able to fix this issue by unchecking "Enable Enhanced Broadcasting" as it forces the old NVIDIA encoder that is deprecated (but they say is compatible) in the 5000 series cards. Then select NVIDIA NVENC H.264 video encoder in "Output". That is the new native encoder for the 5000 series.

Did you update to 576.66? If so how is it or are you still stable on 576.40? I'm still on 576.28 and just got nv_enc_err_invalid_device twice today, mon-thurs I had no issues lol. I am honestly just waiting for the next big WQHL update to happen which is the 590.xx soon but I'm eager to hear from you

I am still on 576.40 Game Ready drivers. Have been stable since mid may. Not a single crash. I haven't updated because I have no current problems and don't want to risk it. Only problem is a blackscreen that BARELY happens. I am so so happy, because this crash was killing me for the past couple months. I highly recommend updating to at least 576.40 and let me know how it goes.

Hows your GPU? Any problems since? Have you updated to the latest 576.80?
